Reverend Wayne K. Redman


Pastor Wayne Redman has been a member of the United Methodist Church, for over 30 years. His Servant Leadership activities as a member of our Laity include the following positions: Chair of Christian Education, Chair of Nurture Ministries, Church School Superintendent, Church Council Chairperson, Lay Leader, and President of the United Methodist Men; in addition, he has served on Membership & Evangelism, Nominations and Finance committees.


He first responded to the call to utilize his spiritual gifts to spread the Good News to others through serving in ministry in the United Methodist Church by becoming an Inquiring Ministry Candidate in 2008. He followed the path of laity Servant Ministry, becoming a Lay Servant, Lay Speaker, and Certified Lay Servant. In March 2017 he was appointed as Certified Lay Minister. Pastor Wayne believes that CLM is a vehicle for engaging laity and church leaders in valuable service to congregations and communities. He continues to support Lay Servant Ministry by serving in the role of Co-Director of LIE-LSM and participating as a class leader.


He became a pastoral assistant at the Centerport United Methodist Church in April of 2018. In March 2019 he was approved as a Certified Candidate for Ministry completing local pastor licensing school in December 2019. He was unanimously re-certified as a candidate for Ordained Ministry and recommended for his Local Pastor License in February 2020. In August of 2020 he was appointed as Pastor of the United Methodist Church of Seaford. He was conferred as a Chaplain by the New York State Chaplain Task Force in 2021. In July 2022 he was appointed to his current position as Pastor at First Church Baldwin, UM.


A graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg Pa., Wayne’s career path has taken him from Corporate America and the for-profit world into the non-profit world, where he held the position of Executive Director of the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club, a provider of out of school time and after school time youth programs and services, for 9 years. He received the Man of the Year award in 2016 by the Village of Hempstead’s Mayor’s office; and was honored as a Hempstead for Hofstra, Hofstra for Hempstead Unispan Award recipient in 2017. Pastor Wayne is a community minded individual, an advocate, and a small business consultant, striving to level the playing field, by providing leadership and expertise in the areas of organizational development, project management, cause marketing, and positive youth and family development programs.


He has twin daughters, Alexis, and Chelsea, who graduated from Boston University and Georgetown University respectively, and resides in Baldwin NY with his wife Doreen who is a technology/information specialist with the Baldwin School District.

Dr. Wonsun Clara Bae

Dr. Wonsun Clara Bae is a world-class soloist and collaborative pianist with an extensive career performing in solo concerts and collaborating with singers, instrumentalists, orchestras, ensembles, and dance performers. She coaches vocal, opera, Broadway musical theater, and instrumental students, and she plays for masterclasses, competitions, and juries in colleges, conservatories, and music festivals. Additionally, Dr. Bae’s tri-lingual proficiency includes English, German, and Korean.

Her recital appearances include performances at Wiener Konzerthaus, Graz Stefaniensaal, Seoul Sejong Arts Center, KBS Concert Hall, Tokyo Shinjuku Concert Hall, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the InterHarmony International Music Festival, and the Soesterberg International Music Festival. Dr. Bae has also premiered works by Andreas Weixler, Jose Luis Greco, Gregg Rosetti, Becky Turro, Michael Zavorskas, and Colin Williams.

Her teaching background includes both private and secondary piano, chamber music, music history and theory, sight-singing, ear training, chorus, musical, and general musicianship studies. She demonstrates strong personal charisma and can quickly develop a rapport with students and help them advance their technical abilities, musicality, and the nuances of working in a collaborative environment.

She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rutgers University with completed coursework in the History of Musical Style, Pro-Seminar of Performance Practice before 18th-Century Music, Opera Workshop, Special Topics of Music Theory, Vocal and Instrumental Literature, Introduction of Musical Research, Tonality since 1900, Independent Study in Instrumental and Vocal accompaniment, Chamber Music, Choral Conducting, and Performance Study DMA.

Her dissertation, “Franz Liszt's Weimar Lieder Revisions” was completed in 2022 under the supervision of Dr. George B. Stauffer.

Influential teachers include the legendary pianists John Perry, Warren Jones, Daniel Epstein, Alexander Satz, Chung Lee, and Nak-ho Baik, and her complete masterclasses include those taught by John Browning and Karl- Heinz Kämmering.
